In a vibrant display of cross-campus collaboration, colleagues from all over the University of Idaho campus joined us for a unique event focused on fostering new connections and generating innovative and collaborative research ideas. Faculty and staff from diverse disciplines—including biology, engineering, and law—gathered to build teams with the goal of IMCI in mind.

Held at the Atrium in IRIC, IMCI’s own Holly and Marty designed the event to encourage the participants to meet new people, explore fresh perspectives, and discover new common ground.

Laughter and energy filled the room as attendees engaged in dynamic conversations, which may have been with someone they knew already or a person they have never interacted with before. These connections formed help reach IMCI’s goal of increasing participation and collaboration.

The standout element of the day was the many innovative ideas we received. Participants worked together in groups to brainstorm collaborative research ideas that they would be interested in seeing IMCI support. Whether discussing social sciences, biomedical research, or modeling, attendees were able to see ideas and offer participation in different research ideas other than their own.

By the end of the day, the atmosphere was one of excitement and possibility. Smiles, laughter, and the buzz of new partnerships marked what we view as a new chapter for the research within IMCI. The success of this event shows the importance of collaboration within our community at IMCI.
