Brown Bag Lunch Series: Residency, Risk Perception, and Recreation Decisions under Wildfire Smoke: Insights from Idaho

The primary objective of this discussion is to present findings on how residency, exposure history, and risk perception influence Idahoans’ protective behaviors toward wildfire smoke, as modeled using structural equation modeling (SEM) to link psychometric constructs with observed behaviors. We will also seek feedback on our proposed future study, which will employ threshold and regression models to examine how air quality levels, travel distance, and sunk-cost effects influence recreation booking and cancellation decisions.
