Alex Vakanski joined the University of Idaho in 2014 as a clinical assistant professor in Industrial Technology at the Idaho Falls Center. He received a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada, in 2013. His specialty areas of expertise revolve around the topics of robotic learning from human demonstrated tasks and vision-based control of robots. The broader scope of his research interests encompasses the fields of mechatronics, machine learning, and computer vision.
Dr. Vakanski is currently the director of the HuMoNN working group.
