We have great people associated with IMCI and welcome additional participation at any time. Feel free to join – or start! – a working group, collaborate with fellow modelers, come to our weekly Brown Bag Lunch and/or subscribe to the listserv.
Christine ParentAssistant Professor Department of Biological Sciences
As Director of Project 2, Parent leads her research team to establish Drosophila melanogaster and 2 of its viruses as a biological model to study the effects of viral co-infection on viral growth dynamics, host response in the form of gene expression, fecundity and mortality change. Parent has experience working with a diversity of invertebrate laboratory models to study the individual- and population-level effects of intraspecific competition, the balance between gene flow and local adaptation, and the evolution of reproductive isolation.
